Intelligent turnstile system

Since the development of gates, the identification methods used include: card swiping (including magnetic cards, ID cards, IC cards, various special-shaped cards, etc.), document scanning (ID card, passport, military ID card, etc.), barcode/QR code, biometric identification (fingerprint, iris, face), etc.

The characteristic of card, certificate, barcode/QR code identification method is that it only recognizes the card, certificate, and code, but not the person.

Advantages: Fast recognition speed and high success rate, so the traffic speed is fast

Disadvantages: If you forget to bring or lose the card/certificate/code, you will have no access rights. Moreover, this method does not identify the person itself and cannot guarantee that the card/certificate/code is consistent with the person. In addition, the card/certificate/code may also be stolen, which poses great security risks to management.

The biometric identification methods of fingerprints and iris are characterized by identifying the biometric characteristics of passing people, and their reliability is relatively high.

Advantages: Relative card/certificate/code identification, eliminating the trouble of carrying these external media

Disadvantages: It is easier to collect fingerprints and iris, and it is more likely to be disguised, so there are certain loopholes in its use. Moreover, pedestrians’ active cooperation is required for verification.

The face recognition method uses visible light to obtain face image information. When pedestrians are moving, the camera can actively capture the pedestrian's facial information and quickly identify the pedestrian's permission to pass.

Advantages: You can verify it when you are present, there is no compulsion, no active cooperation, no contact, and it is difficult to disguise your face.

The identification methods used by gates in different places are different. Some use a certain identification method alone, and some use a combination of multiple methods.

For example, subway gates commonly use card swiping recognition, customs gates use three-in-one recognition of face, document, and fingerprint. University gates can consider a combination of face and card swiping recognition methods.
